1 August 2016

The new Rainforest Way drive tourism route website was officially launched today. The Australia’s Green Cauldron is one of Australia’s 16 National Landscapes - a unique partnership between Tourism Australia and Parks Australia to identify the best places to experience Australia’s outstanding nature and culture.

Stretching from Byron Bay to the Gold Coast and west towards the Great Dividing Range, it is one of the few places in Australia where mountain forests meet the ocean.
The region is home to 12 National Parks - including the Border Ranges National Park to the west, Lamington and Springbrook National Parks to the north, with Wollumbin (Mt Warning) National Park in the centre - many are found in the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area - the southern hemisphere's largest extinct shield volcano.
This website provides information on things to do, and places to stay - there's ideas to sit back, relax and soak up the fresh air and the spectacular views or be challenged on an amazing mountain climb. There's also information for tourism operators on the programs and opportunities on offer.
