The Gold Coast’s outdoors is a natural playground extending the length of a 70km coastline and into a hinterland with 100,000ha of World Heritage listed rainforest. It offers a huge range of active and passive ways to enjoy the areas beautiful environment. From the stunning coastal strip to the bush-clad hinterland and parks, there’s many options to explore and discover the natural side of the city.

The fertile hinterland is dotted with national parks and includes part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, the world’s most extensive subtropical rainforest. Visit the rare phenomena like the Natural Bridge in Springbrook National Park, were a waterfall tumbles through the roof of a basalt cave, and wondrous wildlife can be seen.

There are lots of opportunities to discover the coastline on foot or by bike, using the many foreshore walks and bikeways, including the 36 kilometre Gold Coast Oceanway network from the Gold Coast Seaway (The Spit) to Point Danger in Coolangatta.
