Developed to increase the capacity, marketing, product expansion and professionalism of a select number of New South Wales and Queensland tourism business operators, the program leveraged the global reach and positioning of Australia’s National Landscapes Program.
The program was created to assist with the growth and development of regional tourism operators by offering specialist one on one assistance, and facilitating collaboration among businesses to ultimately grow the drive market and regional tourism in the Australia’s Green Cauldron region.
Over a hundred businesses attended masterclasses across the region to promote the program, with fourteen businesses including accommodation, outdoor adventure, nature and wildlife, food and health and wellbeing experiences selected to participate.
The program utilised various resources, including the Australia’s Green Cauldron Experience Development Toolkit and wider tourism operator networks that the Australia’s Green Cauldron may offer through a unique cross-border and regional destination tourism platform.
National Landscapes Experience Development Mentoring Program 2013/14
Leveraging the National Landscapes Program and research on the growing global demand for experiences, the Experience Development Mentoring program took Australia’s Green Cauldron tourism operators to the next level of experience delivery. The program was co-funded by Tourism and Events Queensland and the Federal Government through a Strategic Tourism Investment Grant (STIG).
Three tourism businesses operating within Australia’s Green Cauldron participated in this one-on-one mentoring program and adopted ‘experiences’ into all aspects of their tourism operations. Read about each of the businesses and their achievements from being involved in the program in the case studies below.
